1. What are Feature Rentals?
Feature Rentals are the photo ads found in the left-hand margin of Rent 2010's eleven most popular pages. Feature Rentals are an optional add-on service available to those homeowners who wish to improve the exposure of their listings.
In total, Rent 2010 makes available Five Feature Rental spots on on each of the nine geographic divisions (Vancouver, Burnaby/Coquitlam,
North Vancouver, etc.), on the Index Page, and on the Local Homeowners and Accommodation Seekers pages.
2. How can I obtain a FEATURE RENTAL spot for my listing?
First find the page containing your detailed listing on Rent2010.net, and
click on the "UPGRADE TO FEATURE LISTING" link at at the bottom
of the page.
To secure your Feature Rental position, you must outbid the amount
contributed by an existing Feature Rentals in your geographic division (the
amount contributed is displayed under each Feature Rental on a page).
For example, supposed that you wish to occupy one of the Feature Rental
positions on the Vancouver page, and that the current Feature Rentals show
the following contributions:
First Feature Rental: $20.00 contributed;
Second Feature Rental: $17.00 contributed; and,
Third Feature Rental: $15.00 contributed.
Fourth Feature Rental: $14.00 contributed.
Fifth Feature Rental: $11.00 contributed.
In order to outbid the First Feature Rental position, you would need
to contribute an amount of $21.00 or more (note that contributions must
be in rounded dollar amounts).
Upon placing your bid of $21.00 or more, the First Feature Rental would
move into the second position, the Second Feature Rental would move
into the third position, and so on.
The (former) Fifth Feature Rental would disappear from the Vancouver page,
but its owner would have the opportunity to regain his or her Feature Rental
status by contributing an additional $4.00 or more.
The above example illustrates how the Feature Rental Listing spots are
determined for each of the geographic division pages (e.g., Vancouver).
In addition, the five listings showing the highest overall contributions
(site-wide) will also be featured on the Rent2010.net homepage, and the
Local Homeowners page.
3. Why can't I see an "UPGRADE TO FEATURE LISTING" button on my ad?
In order to qualify for this feature, your listing must be have a well-written Title and Description, and must contain at least one good photograph of your home.
4. I placed a bid, but it was never counted!
Rent 2010's pages are updated once every 60 minutes. This means that it may take up to one hour for your listing to show up in its feature Listing spot. If you placed a bid more than one hour ago, but it was never counted, please e-mail me of phone me at 604-910-5457..
5. How long will my listing remain a Feature Rental Listing?
Once listed, your listing will remain a Feature Rental Listing on its
page until: (i) June 2010; or, (ii) you remove your listing from Rent2010.net;
or, (iii) five-or-more other listings in your category outbid your own listing (causing
your listing to fall below Fifth position in your category).
As time passes you can increase your bid to keep your link at the top of
the listings.
